The apostle Paul wrote in his
letter to the Colossians: “…be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all
spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may lead lives worthy of the
Lord, fully pleasing to Him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you
grow in the knowledge of God…As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the
Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him and
established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving”
(1:9-10; 2:6-7). This passage is one way to describe the desired results of
ministries with adults – wise, knowledgeable adults who are growing in the
faith and who consistently demonstrate their love of God and neighbor.
